After rumors about Mark Wahlberg cropped up on the web and then were subsequently shot down and then kind of validated by Michael Bay, we now have confirmation that Dirk Diggler himself will be replacing Shia LaBeouf as the lead in the "Transformers" series.
The actor and director hit is off so well during their first collaboration, next year's "Pain and Gain," that they were raring to work together again. It was not specified which project Bay was talking about when he said that they would collaborate again, but that next movie quickly became "Transformers 4," and that's OK by us.
Splash Page's Josh Wigler reached out to some other blog editors to see what they had to say about the casting, and the response was certainly positive. "It's an absolutely brilliant move," wrote Valerie Gallaher from MTV Geek. "It'll keep this franchise fresh."
