Christopher Nolan is 'Serious' About Making A Bond Movie

Nolan

Starting August this year, Christopher Nolan has a free schedule. No more Batman, no more nothing. So that leaves us all wondering what he's going to do next.

Apparently it could be a future James Bond movie. In an interview with Empire, excerpted by The Playlist, Nolan said that he's "serious" about making a 007 movie. "Batman Begins" and "Inception" were heavily influenced by the longtime film series, and Nolan originally teased the idea about his participation in the franchise several years ago.

"It would have to be the right situation and the right time in their cycle of things," Nolan told Empire. That seems to imply that he'd want to try his hand at the series once they cast a new Bond, which might not be any time soon.

Since we're talking about future Christopher Nolan projects, we might as well talk about one that likely won't happen. His interview with Empire also seems to say that he's calling it quits on his long-planned Howard Hughes biopic.

"Luckily I managed to find another wealthy, quirky character who's orphaned at a young age," he said about that film, clearly meaning Bruce Wayne.

The Hughes/Wayne comparison is interesting, and one that bodes for big things in Nolan's future. At least we know who Hollywood will come calling to if some (idiotic) studio ever decides it's time to remake "Citizen Kane."

"The Dark Knight Rises" hits theaters on July 20. The next Bond film, "Skyfall," is due out on November 9.
