Most of the activity at the box office this weekend was strictly of the paranormal variety. "Paranormal Activity 4," the yearly, automatic profit-turner, won out the weekend, taking in $30.2 million in its big debut weekend.
While this was the lowest opening for a "Paranormal Activity" since the first micro-budget phenomenon, a budget of roughly $5 million makes "Paranormal 4" an easy success story.
Ben Affleck's "Argo" managed to perform well in week two, adding $16.6 million to its total, which sits currently at $43.2 million.
In less fortunate box office news, Tyler Perry didn't quite make the jump to drama like he was hoping. "Alex Cross" came in at a disappointing fifth place, earning only $11 million.
