'Wreck-It Ralph' Smashes Our Fall Movie Preview Week

"Wreck-It Ralph," if nothing else, is all about smashing through stereotypes. John C. Reilly provides the voice of the titular Ralph, a video game villain who is sick of his bad guy label and sets out to show a different side of himself by invading other realms of the gaming universe.

One such realm is Sugar Rush, a racing game populated by, among others, Vanellope von Schweetz, a nine year-old girl voiced by comedian Sarah Silverman. "All she wants to do is race," Silverman told MTV News about her character, "but they won't let her, because she's a glitch."

It's Vanellope's very nature as a glitch that attracted Silverman to the animated comedy, presenting universal themes that even the least video game savvy viewer can latch onto.

"I found it to be kind of beautiful and I connect to it, whether it's real or not," she said. "You realize that Ralph is the same way. He wants to have love. He doesn't want to be the bad guy. I think we share that. We clash at first but we realize we have family in each other, and we realize that your biggest downfall or your glitch can sometimes be your superpower. It's beautiful!"

From "Perks" to "Breaking Dawn," "The Hobbit" to "Skyfall," the MTV Movies team is delving into the hottest upcoming flicks in our 2012 Fall Movie Preview. Check back daily for exclusive clips, photos and interviews with the films' biggest stars.
